For those of you all who don't know me, my name is Mike Ramirez, and I'm a junior at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(M.I.T.) in Cambridge, MA. My future plans include majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Spanish. I was born and raised in a south Texas city known as McAllen, located just 8 miles from the Mexican border, and the city of Reynosa. McAllen is located in the middle of the beautiful Rio Grande Valley which is known primarily for it's contribution to Texan agriculture. The Rio Grande Valley is also a popular spot for tourists attempting to escape the colder states of the North, Midwest, and East, to take advantage of the region's mild winters. A popular spot located on the eastern edge of the Rio Grande Valley is the city of South Padre Island. This is a Spring Break haven for many college students from all around the nation, with its many clubs, hotels, restaurants, and of course the beach, attracting more people each year.
